I think this old engraving sums up quite well how I feel at the moment, after months of hard work on The Butterfly Effect. Now the website is nearly finished too, apart from a few links to other websites and the gallery, but I thought I'd publish it anyway to get the marketing ball rolling.
Everyone who's seen a proof book so far has loved it, including the manager of the local branch of Waterstones, and a rather precocious five-year-old who read the whole book out loud to an audience of stunned adults who knew he could read but didn't think he'd be able to decipher the font I used in the pictures.
It was great collaborating with another artist for the first time, especially someone like Robin, who introduced me to Photoshop so I could play around a bit with his illustrations myself and add the words too during the editing. The poem improved quite a lot in the process and so did the book after a very helpful critique from my old friend the Fire Poet, Philip Wells.
So all it needs now is a bit more tweaking before it's printed. We might even have a small launch party to celebrate when it's done!
